image planes to stencils

we should be able to either use the image planes as a stencil, or convert images plens from and to stencils easily.

Whenever you send a scene from maya to mudbox, and you have a bunch of cameras with image planes assigned to them, in mudbox you need to reassign all those image planes manually as stencils if you want to use them for texturing, and the process is slow and annoying, as you have to setup the same proportions that the image plane has, by hand, making the whole process a nightmare. Please add an option to EITHER use image planes as stencils or to convert them with a 1 single click

thanks

I'm using mudbox 2018 and this feature is still missing. I can't find a reason to justify why would it be so hard for such a basic feature to be added, to use an image plane as stencil when we already are able to move the image plane in front of the object. I had a scene setup in maya with cameras and image planes(photogrammetry) for precise modelling, and wanted to bring that scene straight into mudbox for projection painting. But none of the cameras work straight out of fbx. I had to copy FOV values from maya and put them into each camera manually, then also import image planes manually to each camera.

Mudbox painting is so simple yet powerful which I would like to use instead of Mari's tedious setup. But all these hurdles are keeping me afar mudbox sadly.
