Din 61 Thread

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hi All,

First time poster. I want to apply a Din 61 thread to a plastic bottle cap I'm designing. It is a very common thread for European water tanks/ chemical drums etc. It appears Inventor does not have this thread standard. Is there an add-in with additional threads, a users extended thread file, or someone who knows the thread pattern that I can use? There seems to be very limited information regarding the DIN 61 standard in terms of technical/ engineering specifications. I could even just create a coil pattern and cut extrude if I knew the sketch dimensions.

Thank you.

You could try to add this to the Excel Table with threads within Inventor!

Found in the Design data folder...

Thanks Braden,

I would like to use this method but I need the data to populate the file. I currently do not have access to the Din 61 specification data.

There doesn't appear to be a DIN 61 standard on the din.de website so now I'm curious what standard DIN 61 falls under.

Perhaps The DIN 13 family?

DIN 13-01:

ISO general purpose metric screw threads - Part 1: Nominal sizes for coarse pitch threads; nominal diameter from 1 mm to 68 mm

Din 13-19:

ISO general purpose metric screw threads - Part 19: Nominal profiles

DIN 13-20:

ISO general purpose metric screw threads - Part 20: Limits of sizes for coarse pitch threads with the prefered tolerance classes; nominal sizes from 1 mm to 68 mm

depending on your use case you could do a google picture search for Din 61. That way i found a couple of drawings with dimensions that could be good enoug for you.
