Inventor Nastran 2022.1 has been released. This is my list of changes and explanation, taken from the What's New, Release Notes, and other issues addressed by development for the Inventor Nastran interface and the Nastran solver. (Sorry for being so late with this list.)

2022.1 (and all "dot releases") can be installed using the Autodesk Desktop App.

1

Corrected issues with shell models and continuous meshing. See Load applied to edge of shell is missing from analysis in Nastran and Rigid connector applied to shell is using wrong nodes in Nastran for examples.

2

Corrected issue with multi-step animation for explicit analysis. The displacements can now be used to show the deformed shape. However, you may need to set the “Deform Options” to displacement; otherwise, the deformed shape may use the contact force, acceleration, or other result to show the “shape”. See Unreasonable scaling is seen while displaying multistep animation results of Explicit Dynamics in In....

3

Corrected issue with log-log interpolation of the PSD input. See Results of random response are inaccurate when using log-log interpolation of PSD in Nastran.

4

Corrected issue in an explicit analysis that ends with an error. Results are now written for completed steps. Previously, the results were deleted.

5

Fixed issue where part file didn't solve when design representation was lost. The model state in Nastran was not being reset to Master.

6

Fixed issue when deactivating a subcase and running the analysis did not load the results automatically when solution completes.

7

Corrected issue where distributed load on beam elements were missing from the analysis.

8

Updated tutorials B7 and B8 (iLogic). When using iLogic to add a new material, the material ID needs to be a unique value.

9

Added tutorials A9 and A10 for mapping injection-molded fiber orientation from Moldflow to Nastran (Advanced Material Exchange).

10

Brittle material is saved properly to a material file (.nasmat).

11

Hyperelastic material is saved properly to a material file (.nasmat).

12

Support for  Drucker-Prager materials was added for Explicit analyses.

13

Added automatic calculation of mass moments of inertia when replacing parts of an assembly with a concentrated mass. (The calculation is not performed for single part models.)

14

Changing model states no longer gives the message “Some features have been lost due to geometry modification”. Loads and constraints are retained.
