When using the place at component origin in the productivity panel of the assembly ribbon. It would be very helpful if it remembered the last folder selected, instead of starting at the root of the workspace every time. Gene.R

There are times in large assemblies when it's easier to strictly turn off visibility of a single part within a sub/assembly instead of trying to view/constrain tight areas. For instance when my group adds an electrical enclosure sub/assembly to a main/upper level assembly we have to also add fasteners, so I will typically turn off visibility of the door of the enclosure in order to gain better access to the areas I will need to constrain. I typically do this by changing my Component Priority to "Select Part Priority" and right clicking and turning off visibility of the part... It would be nice if in the View window there was an option to turn on visibility of Parts/assemblies whose visibility is currently off opposed to attempting to navigate the tree in order to find all the files that are off. If there is an easy way around this please let me know... I know turning visibility of the entire assembly off then back on will fix this most of the time but it doesn't always work plus can be tedious.

When you select a component in the view window, you can RMB>Find in Browser to scroll your browser to that item and expand any folders/assemblies needed to show it. Clicking this should duplicate that behaviour in the Vault Browser (if it's visible). Ideally the current button would perform both actions at once, but adding a button for the new action ("Find in Vault Browser") would also work.

I would like that IPN enviroment would import/contain lights that user prepared/changed from existing ones / in IAM enviroment. IPN presentations View tab APPERANCE lights contains only standrd set of lights now. Now one has to recreate them for the second time. Regards

In my neck of the woods we show near side and far side (hidden line) countersinks a different color than edges so as to show the machinist more clearly where it's supposed to be placed. The way I used to do it was simply select the countersink edge, right click, properties, color, change this color, ok, ok, until I created new red and green layers and started just moving all the C'sinks to those layers. This is fine for simple parts but when you have 50+ countersinks, it starts to take up alot of time since I cant select too many of them without graying out my properties option with right click. I'd like to have a function where all of your countersinks in a view or dwg (not including holes but maybe an option) will be selected and you can change the color of all of them at once. Same for hidden C'sinks on the far side. Also nifty would be an option to include centermarks/centerlines. It would sure save me alot of clicks!

I like to be able to "attach" additional notes, feature frames, etc (essentially any thing that has a leader as an option) to various objects and other notes etc on my drawings, which allows them to move with said object, and not show this secondary leader. The help files say to use the "Delete leader" option to do this, but this is confusing as for that option to work the secondary note must be attached to the part in the view, not another note. I quite often move my notes around, not the entire view, and want these secondary notes to move with the primary note, which in turn would move with its view.

buongiorno, il nuovo tasto misura non è pratico, fa perdere tempo, da informazioni inutili o utili solo saltuariamente. come area e circonferenza. sono dati che servono poche volte. la dimensione del tasto con queste informazioni superflue incide sul' area di lavoro negativamente. funziona malissimo anche il misura lunghezza curva composta. in sostanza il vecchio tasto funzionava egregiamente pertanto chiedo di ripristinare la vecchia logica. grazie Andrea

Hey there. Currently sitting with assembly drawings with multiple view reps. The way they're created is to mark multiple items (select part priority) -> Isolate However, I have a few inseparable items. They disappear from the BOM filter, because only the parts within an inseparable assembly are visible, and not the assembly itself. I would like to see a way to choose a priority where it'll choose inseparable assemblies as well as parts that aren't in an inseparable subassembly.

One good modeling practice is to utilize the origin planes to model parts. These origin planes do not change, and cannot be changed inadvertently. However, the part and assembly environment view cubes orientation to the origin planes can be changed or reoriented at any time. Since the view cube's orientation can be changed, and can be changed to be out of sync with the origin planes, I feel when making view of a part in an IDW, the default view should be in sync with the origin planes and not the view cube. If that workflow can't change, then the addition of a visual indicator on the view cube during view creation showing it is, or is not in sync with the origin planes would be beneficial. Hi, we have a minor problem with the web view of 3D models in Fusion teams. We import our Solidworks assemblies into teams and would like to see the corresponding properties for a part. When clicking on the part it only shows the body information. It is quite impossible to find the enclosing part in the feature tree. Is there a way to do this easier? Otherwise, it would be nice to highlight the part in the feature tree when selecting a body or be able to right click and select "show in feature tree". Hope this makes sense! After opening multiple part files, it's been noticed that the volume calculation in the Properties dialog does not agree with the volume shown in the iProperties dialog. If the iProperties dialog is used first, then the same volume is shown in the Properties dialog. Performing a Rebuild All prior to using the Properties will also result in the same volume in both locations. Sometimes the local update icon will be active to indicate that the model should be updated but this is not always the case. It is disconcerting that an incorrect volume might be displayed. I'd suggest that when the Update button is used in both the iProperties and Property dialogs that a Rebuild All be performed so that correct values will be displayed in all cases. The attached screen cast and images show the process on an imported STEP file. Note that the Local Update icon is not active in this example. Hallo, es wäre schön, wenn ich in einem Bauteil Schweißnähte hinzufügen kann. bis her muss man diese immer aufwendig erstellen. ich brauche eine Funktion, ähnlich wie in der Baugruppe, dass sich zwei Flächen markieren kann und er diese automatisch füllt. Es wäre sinnvoll schon in einem Multibody (Master) schon Schweißnähte drin zu haben um bestimmte Abstände zu vermaßen. vielen Dank

Buongiorno 1) Ho collegato il parametro "ASPETTO" all'interno del mio file .idw come proprietà trattamento superficiale. Per le singole parti (solido / lamiera) riesco ad impostare l'aspetto. Per gli assiemi no. E' possibile allineare gli aspetti anche per gli assiemi? 2) non è possibile importare all'interno di un file .idw un solido / lamiera col metodo rapido DRAG & DROP. E' possibile implementarlo? 3) Non esiste un comando rapido (per esempio con tasto dx come per solid edge) per visualizzare immediatamente tutte le parti. E' necessario ogni volta cliccare nell'albero delle parti su Rappresentazioni → Vista → ... → Tutti gli elementi visibili. grazie

the main purpose to use Inventor is to create structural glass walls or marquise. I the need to do plans and elevations with axes. I creat a part file with all data about the building axes floors elevation floor level ect I use the work plane for these and look at using axes.It will be nice to be able to create a sketch symbol that can read the axe name and the work plane name.

Hi, every time I want to open a new file, the file selection list is scrolled all the way up. This is annoying when there are many files in a Directory. It would be nice if, when opening a file, the focus in the file selection list would automatically be set to the last opened file. It would also be desirable that the Open dialog has an adjustable window size so that more files can be displayed in the file selection list at once.
