The ability to adjust the amount of Zoom in your computer mouse is available in AutoCAD as a system variable called ZOOMFACTOR.  Inventor has this ability as well, but it has to be done through the registry editor.  This seems like a simple enough addition to make to the Application Options for users that work on small designs and the users that work on large designs.   Current Location of the Registry Edit to accomplish this....   Browse to HKEY_CURRENT_USER/SOFTWARE/Autodesk/Inventor/ResistryVersion21.0 (this is Inventor 2017)/System/Preferences/Display In here you will find a registry key named Wheel Zoom Speed with a default value of 1.  Modify this value to a lower setting to zoom less and a higher number to zoom more.  I find a setting of .5 is rather tolerable if you are working on what most Inventor users work on (small or medium assemblies). Tube and pipe requires a minimum pipe length between two fittings (bends, tees valves etc). Our systems have compact manifolds and more often than not there would be no straight lengths of pipe between fittings. I have set the minimum distance between fittings to 0.001mm to minimise the impact of this, however there is no method of cutting back two fittings to make them tighter together. Back in school when i was learning drawings, you only needed two pencils thin and wide. Everything is drawing with thin pencil and section cut lines is drawn with wide pencil. Somehow Inventor got away from this concept for all these years. I never worked on any project or with any person who would not question Inventor's inability to differentiate between projected lines vs. cut lines. Software obviously knows the deference (it knows how to add hatches), we just need one more step, one more layer, one more line weight to make our drawings look amazing. Autodesk, please, please, please!!! The coordinate dimensioning tool is extremly inergonomic. When pulling finally the measures to define if to be marked in X or Y direction, one needs to pull very far away, mostly covering other views. Then one needs to activate these measures again to bring them into the correct form and place. If one is not pulling far away, it jumps in the other, unintended axis and one has to begin from scratch. Show More

Add a "pop-up" editor to edit dimensions:   Because: Input fields for dimensions are many places very short. If you use named parameters, it is very difficult to get an overview of the content. I think it would be nice to be able to search for, and highlight, balloon references on assembly drawings.   For example, if your checking to see if every item has been identified, you may not want to spend valuable time in searching for Item 251 (to pick a random number).  - particularly on a large assy drawing   Maybe even if you were to enter 251 in the balloon reference search field, you could be given information further info, like number of times it's been identified, on what page (assuming multi-page drawings).   Just a thought  Show More

As is stated, please add the ability to right-click a "Suppress Body" option within the Inventor view window, while highlighted on a specific solid body within a multi-body .ipt file and have said solid body be suppressed. Right now, the user is painfully forced to first select "Find in Browser", then expand the particular solid body icon within the feature browser, then finally the user can right-click select the specific feature icon that pertains to that specific solid body and suppress it. Wow. That is a whole lotta work that can easily be avoided by this simple fix that I am suggesting. Time is of the essence. Show More
