When using iProperty names in a custom iProperty, it is not possible to apply mathematical functions. For example, the basic unit cm can not be changed in mm. Even functions like round() are not possible. The reason for this is probably that basically a text field is generated. Currently you cannot see what sub-assembly design representation is used in an Inventor assembly.  There is an empty folder that displays in the browser, but it does not display the design representation being consumed.  You can right click on the Representations folder and you get a dialog box to allow you select a specific design representation, it does not display the actual design representation used when placing the component assembly.   My suggestion is to allow users to open the Representations folder under assembly components in the browser and have the actual design representation being consumed in the assembly.  Not being able to know which design representation is being used for assembly components is a major issue for us.   See attached marked up screen capture.         Show More

LOD reps have the ability to link to other LOD reps in lower sub assemblies if they have the same name.  If I create an assembly with the LOD rep "Shell", I can then have that assembly call for all other LOD reps called "Shell" to be used as well in all sub assemblies contained in the top level assembly I am working with.   Please make View Reps do the same thing.   View reps already have associativity so we can do that manually by selecting the associative check box.  This idea is to take an existing assembly with sub assemblies and link them together after the fact.  It needs to cascade down through the levels as well.       Show More

If you have two perpendicular sketches and are viewing or working on one sketch straight on; the dimensions of the perpendicular sketch should automatically disappear.  See the image below, it's not as if you can read the dimensions.  It just shows a jumbled mess, especially on complicated sketches. As soon as you rotate your view all the dimensions should automatically reappear.  This should be an option you could turn on or off depending on your preference.  BTW, I know you can turn off the dimensions of a sketch but that's a tedious process and doesn't happen on the fly as I'm suggesting.  Thanks. From an open drawing, Place Views tab , Create panel, we click on "Nailboard" and select the harness assembly to document. After this, it is impossible to create another harness assembly nailboard view because the function "Nailboard" is disabled.   The .idw drawing can have multiple sheets. Please add the possibility to create multiple Nailboard views on one .idw drawing. A lot of customers need to place one nailboard per sheet.   Thank you. Show More

Since I'm mainly using Fusion 360 I find it really useful to be able to change the mouse buttons'  layout for pan, zoom and rotate.  I would like to see that implemented in Inventor as well. It would really help current and new users to personalise their inventor. The main option I'm looking for is using the TinkerCAD layout, which allows you to do everything with just the mouse but having all of them would be amazing. It would make for a better user experience, not having to use different layouts when using different programs, as each program has its strengths.   Show More

Even after dragging the Measure panel to a super wide width, it still doesn't display the full values because, for some unexplainable reason, it's instead added a bunch of empty space between columns. As we increase the panel width, please prioritize showing full values first, then start adding empty space once all values are visible.   Show More

I have to maintain two sets of drawings; an Inventor set and a AutoCAD set, but I often run into a lot of problems when I'm trying to add new content to an existing AutoCAD drawing. For example, I'm trying to copybase the content above, but when I paste it in the main drawing model space, this happens: I'm pretty sure it has something to do with the blocks that have been exported that are in the AutoCAD drawing already, but if anyone could help me with Inventor to AutoCAD integration, I'd greatly appreciate it. *Note: We have employees who use DraftSight to view AutoCAD drawings and it doesn't work well if I just save as AutoCAD from Inventor, but it works fine with exported to 2018 AutoCAD dwg. It would be nice if you could control the visibility of individual weld beads in the assembly environment.   Visibility state should be saved in the View Representation.   In addition, LOD's should also be able to capture the Supress state of weld beads. Show More

It would be extremely helpful when placing balloons in drawings, if you could drag the balloon line along the part, and still maintain its current angle. For an example, if I place 3 balloons aligned horizontally and one is overlapping another, as long as the leader arrow remains on the same part, I could grab the straight vertical line of the balloon and drag it left to right while the balloon remains vertical and at the same height. Would save a lot of time if we could have a curve loop dimension in the sketch environment. My current work around is giving each line / arc a length dimension and adding them in the parameter table to give you a total length. We constantly use this for conveyor belt, chain length etc. and I am sure we are not the only company having to do this. We require these lengths so that we can order the correct length material and this dimension needs to update as the model changes.
