Give me a chance to edit my mistake when creating/editing parameters

Give me a chance to edit my mistake when creating/editing parameters

We are all human and make mistakes.  I KNOW that blank spaces are not allowed as a parameter name, but sometimes, I mis-type or forget to add a "-" or other character to fill in for the space.  When I do this, I get a dialog that says "Unable to create parameter" and a "Cancel" button.  Only choice I have is to click "Cancel" and lose everything I have entered.  This is so lame.  It has been this why since Inventor R4 and its time to change it.  Make it a little more user friendly.  I don't mean add a bunch of drop-downs or totally revamping the parameters dialog.  Just a simply "OK" and then it returns back to where I was entering the name.

This is similar to James' idea posted here, but his is about the invalid characters in formulas, but the came concept....

Voted for both, and if you found 10 more ideas about this I'd vote for them too.  This is seriously annoying and unnecessary, and doesn't do anything to actually help in any way.  Just throw it back into the edit mode instead of cancelling everything.

Yep, 30 votes on mine, plus this one below which also includes the option to leave open:

Inn a similar way, if you go to save over an existing exported file (e.g. PDF) and Inventor can't do it for some reason- maybe you left it open in your PDF viewer- Inventor shows an error and dumps you right out of the process, which is really annoying if you had to navigate an extensive directory tree to get to the intended destination. AutoCAD doesn't do this, it takes you back to the save PDF popup.

It is dead simple to "fix" it: Just add an "Edit" button to the dialog. When the user presses on the "Edit" the value of the last current edit box is preserved and the focus is returned to that edit field.

@karthur1- Thank you so much for that Idea!

And...... here is another example of the same problem.  Went to rename my solid body and given a dialog that body name is invalid.  Rather than giving me a chance to fix it, all I get is a "Cancel" button,  so I have to retype the entire name rather than just going back and correcting my mistake.

Its 2021 and we should be better than this.

I just tried the alpha build.  The parameters dialog works great and they even fixed it for the solid bodies rename.  Good job!!
