Allow me to edit invalid parameters

If I type in an invalid parameter it goes red and I get the error message shown below.

When I click cancel, the parameter reverts back to what it was before. This is really annoying if you made a typo or a simple mistake. I want to be able to simply edit the invalid value that I entered.

This is one of the longer ones I knew I could find quickly, but it is by no means the longest I have had to retype while guessing at what may have been the mistake

It is dead simple to "fix" it: Just add an "Edit" button to the dialog. When the user presses on the "Edit" the value of the last current edit box is preserved and the focus is returned to that edit field.

The same thing goes for renaming browser nodes. If we accidentally type one that's already used, Inventor lets us know and then reverts it to what it was, rather than keeping it in edit state so we can tweak it to a unique name.

Many thanks for posting the idea to us, and it has been addressed in Inventor 2023.1. You can review it in https://help.autodesk.com/view/INVNTOR/2023/ENU/?guid=GUID-A8B21139-EE52-4BCA-8196-02CA40B96FBE

The "what's new" says "parameter name"!

Does it also work for for equations?

Can anyone check to make sure if it applies to equations as well as names?

How do we get the status changed back if it's not really fixing the problem with parameter equations as stated? (The original question here doesn't even mention the parameter name.)

@dan_inv09 I have checked in 2023.1, and it also works for equation.
