Allow Live Editing of Parameters

I believe it would be overwhelmingly beneficial to be able to leave the parameters window open while designing.  Further, the ability to live edit/update multiple parameters while building out a part or assembly would be much easier than having to edit multiple features individually.  This would be extremely beneficial especially during the sketching phase, as we would also be able to name and track the parameters in a much more viewer-friendly setting, versus trying to remember to set parameters during each/every dimension we add.

Further, allowing the ability to use excel-like formulas, such as "round" or "average" would be fantastic directly in each parameter.  I get around this currently by adding a user parameter and then reference back to it.  This isn't a huge deal, but is absolutely cumbersome in the event that we cannot have the parameters window open, as again, you may be creating a dimension or reference, recall you need a formulated answer, then either have to leave a random dimension that needs modified post creation, or you have to quit the definition in order to create the parameter to reference.

This has already been requested here: Permanently open parameters window..

If I understand what you're saying correctly, all of this is inherently part of a permanently-open Parameters window. The Parameters window would stay open as you work, populating with any new Model Parameters you create while creating features, and allowing you to edit or rename them. So nothing new here...

You indeed can use the round() function in Model parameters. You simply have to make sure they're processing a unitless (ul) value -- just like you would if you were using a User parameter. There is no need to create a User parameter just to use the round() function (or any other parameter function). Also, you can vote to be able to use any unit in the round() function here: Accept any unit in Parameter rounding functions (round, ceil, floor).

Thanks very  much for the links and the instruction!  I upvoted the other request you linked to.

In addition, your instruction to use unitless values for a function is very helpful.  However, it'd be really nice if I could input that formulae into the dimensions dialog that comes up when I'm adding a parameter.  Instead, I have to open the parameters window and make edits there.

Greatly appreciated!

No problem, glad it was helpful.

Actually, you can do that. In the following screenshot I'm assigning a name to a Model parameter AND using the round() function while dynamically dimensioning a Sketched line:

Dynamic dimension rename with function.png

Also, you may be interested in some of the following Ideas, that suggest a few ways to make parameter equation inputting much faster and more streamlined, at the source (the dimension input box), greatly reducing the need to use the Parameters box at all (which it sounds to me is what you'd actually prefer):
