Thanks for asking - great question.....

The easiest way is to click on https://autode.sk/InventorBeta

Firstly you need to have a Beta account. If you don't already have one then you can create one from:

https://feedback.autodesk.com

Use your existing A360 login credentials or create a new account.

Or, once you have logged on to the Autodesk Beta site, under the Open Opportunities section you will see a link called Inventor Futures. Click on that to apply for access, (you will need to complete a quick survey to help us understand your Inventor usage/history/background before you are granted access.

More general info about Autodesk Beta's is available from:

https://feedback.autodesk.com/overview/

Thanks

Hello,

I had some inquiries recently about what we do to enable Alpha/Beta testing for pre-release versions of Inventor, without causing any impact to your current production version of Inventor.

We do several things:

  1. Host Inventor using a technology called Frame - this enables you to try our most recent Alpha build of Inventor directly in your browser. We host in 4 different geographical locations to ensure a good experience. It's pre-configured with sample data so all you do is click on a link & start using it in seconds. You can also upload your own data to test with & then when your session finishes everything "vaporizes".
  2. Provide a containerized Turbo build; this enables you to download a single (large) executable which you can then simply run locally. All of your PC resources are leveraged exactly as though Inventor was fully installed. After the download there's no need to be on-line anymore. When you're finished testing you can just delete the .exe file & the related cache. No need for install/uninstall & no issues with side-by-side with older versions.
  3. Once we get to Beta (mid-late November) we also guarantee that any files saved with a Beta build will migrate forward to the next major release. This enables the early adopters to actually use Beta software for real production work.

To compliment this, the majority of new functionality is covered with videos, on-line help & step-by-step test scripts. Many members of the Inventor team regularly monitor the discussion forums & problem reports to explain/clarify/quantify as required. For further background info about the Inventor Alpha/beta program, see Shaan Hurley's blog article.

You can apply for access just by clicking on this link:

Cheers,
Chris
