Frame part automatically

Good day,

Im trying to have my Frame members automatically change for example Mienis Fram-FR-0001.

In file naming default I have named Frame assembly, Skeleton part and Frame member. See pictures linked.

When i have changed this i went on a frame a created and went to Iproperties, but to my disappointment I see that at frame number it still says ISO 10799-2 50x50x3 200, instead of what i wanted Mienis Frame-FR-0007. I dont want to keep renaming it. Imagine i have 100 frames. I want that it changes automatically. How do i do this. I thought this was able to be done in file naming default.

Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

Just a extra message. I was watching this on how to do it https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=fYhLimSTVrY&t=159s.

He managed to get 001, 002, 003 at the part number. And under his origin it says AH8906-FR-001, 002, 003 and so on. With my origin it says Mienis Frame-FR-0001:1, 0001:2 and so on. I dont want 0001:1. I want it to be 0001, 0002 and so on.

For your first question, Inventor does not automatically change the part number when you rename files.  (unfortunately).  But you can program it in ilogic:  https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/inventor/learn-explore/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/How-to-...

For your second question:  Firstly note that the dialog is split into a left and right column, left is display names, right column are file names.  I prefer to set everything in the left column to the property <file name> (do this by deleting everything in each field, click the plus sign and click "file name".  Then, in the right columns, type the names you want without the "0001", then click the plus sign and select "index number".

For the location, by default it will create folders to put all that stuff in, if you would rather all the stuff be placed in the same folder as assembly, then delete the "<Assembly Name>\frame" at the end of the location so that only <Assembly Path> remains.  And relax, if anything gets messed up, click the plus sign, click reset and the field will go back to default.

You need to configure this basically in the family table of a copied family in a write-able library.

Its the same dialog box as in the TFI video you referenced.  Go to application options - file tab - file name defaults.  The appearance of the box has changed in inventor 2021 since the TFI video was version 2019 - but thats where it all is.
