Hello to the Fusion ECAD Community!

In anticipation of the September update going out in the next couple of weeks, we've decided to do an early drop on the details of what community bugs have been addressed this time around! If you want to get an early jump on these fixes, you're more than welcome to apply for the Insider Program and get early access!

We greatly appreciate you taking time out of your busy schedule to notify us of the issues that you find in Fusion, and we would like to show that appreciation!

In an ongoing effort to increase our transparency as well as our communication with you, we're continuing with our initiative of calling out all the Forum Reported bug fixes that are included in each update. The list below comprises all the issues that have been raised by our engaged community. So, without further ado, here is what we're going to see in the September 2024 update (creator of forum thread and the thread itself, in no particular order):

Just as in prior updates, this isn’t to suggest that those are the only fixes that we've included. The list above are the issues specific to the ECAD community; within this update our team has additionally found and fixed over 100 different bugs and issues.

Still haven’t seen your issue on the list and wondering if/when it's going to get fixed? Don't hesitate to "bump" the original thread that you created, and I'll be happy to chase down the status of your issue!

Thanks for contributing to what makes the software truly great!

Amazing that fixes are being applied that are linked directly to user feedback and specific forum posts. Really shows you are actively listening. Well done!

Hello,

I updated the software today and have some issues:

- Polygon to PCB outline clearance is locked at 1mm and cannot be changed (works in pre-update version)

- Design preferences button does nothing except changing background to blue

- Design Rules option looks exactly the same as previous version

I restarted the computer, reinstalled the software, then restarted PC again but it behaves exactly the same. Didn't test other options since I was stuck. Hope my client will understand.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to use custom rules options in Fusion360.

Hello @mateusz_kowalczykP9PLC,

I hope you're doing well. Something is going really wrong. We released a video showing the differences in Design Rules and Preferences for the new release. Take a quick look and confirm if that is what you are seeing.

https://youtu.be/MuU8zYSeJvs?si=aoqlE6-dA4N6Vr6k

If nothing looks like the video, then definitely something has gone wrong with the installation. You can try repairing the Fusion installation using the Fusion Service Utility.

See this article for more info

Unfortunately it didn't help.

Fresh installation and repairing have no result. I'd try with another instance on the other computer, but I need to progress with my work somehow. Attached recording with the problem.

Hi @mateusz_kowalczykP9PLC,

Thank you for the video. I have shared it with the team. Something is SERIOUSLY wrong with your install, I can't even imagine how it would get in that state. I'm certain the developers will be reaching out to you, but if not I will keep following up with you on this.

Hello, @jorge_garcia

I have the same issue with the DRC. I see the old DRC check, not new one. My colleague had the same problem but after updating the GPU driver it works. He can see now the new DRC setting and adapt the 1.06 mm copper to board distance.

What we tried so far:

- manual reinstall (serval times)

- Update the GPU to latest version (Nvidia RTX 3500 Ada ->v553.24)

- install Fusion one a new laptop with identical HW

- adapt the preference ( Direct X, switch the  GPU Internal intel /external Nvidia RTX 3500 Ada v553.24)

- check firewall/antivirus

Any other ideas?

Best Regards

Felix

Hello @felix-berno.mueller,

I hope you're doing well. I've reported this to our developers, a new release of Fusion came out yesterday. Try updating to the latest version to see if that will clear the flags causing the old DRC to pop up.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.

The actual Fusion version didn´t help but today I installed the "Fusion inside" version and now I can work with the new DRC.  Hopefully it works also in the next official release.
