Autodesk 123D Design

Hey there, there was no category for this, but I think it's the closest

I've been using 123D Design for a while now, and have been having problems lately. Im on a windows 8 laptop with 8 GB of ram and an Intel Core i5-3337U processor and an Intel HD Graphics 4000 graphics card. I just updated to R1.6.41 64bit, and it installed just fine. However, when I run it, I get the "this program has stopped working" error message. I have reinstalled it multiple times, and have redownloaded it twice. I've checked multiple sources for solutions but it's been to no avail. Any suggestions?

Hi @Klicker5000 - sorry you are having issues with !23D Design.

Did you try posting in the 123D forums here? http://forum.123dapp.com/123d - the 123D product team is active on the boards there and can likely help.

If you get stuck there or aren't getting an answer, PM or email me (bill.johnston@autodesk.com).

Hi it says that community has been "retired".  Not sure where to go for 123D help?

Am trying to use the manipulator reorient feature to rotate an object along its own local coordinate system.  The manipulator reorients just fine, but does not then reorient the object.  Trying to figure out how to get the object to reorient based on the degrees I rotate the manipulator, rather than just seeing the manipulator rotate and then nothing else happens.

This is not a solution.  The 123D Design forum is gone or is no longer at that link.  What is the word on 123D Design?  Is it dead?  Are we to move to 360?  I use 123D Design all the time to quickly design parts for around the house and in my workshop. I am sure the users of 123D would love to hear if it is a dead end.  If so, hey, we'll move on.

I found the 123D forums here: https://sitesupport.123dapp.com/hc/en-us/community/topics/200244848-123D-Design

Don't panic, I think it was just a bad link and not sign of the end of times for 123D Design 🙂

Hey @Anonymous - I think it was likely marked "solved" because for the purposes of the Fusion forums, the post was solved by providing the appropriate place to seek help and ask questions related to 123D apps.  What kind of problem are you running into, and any luck in the 123D site?

a friend just told me about fusion360. after installing it the software has stopped a lot of my programs from working and I have just formatted windows and reinstalled everything all over again and have the same problem. I can't believe this is an autodesk program full of bugs? going to wipe my hard drive again and switch to something else. I'm running i7 6700k 32gb ram and dual 980ti's

If you're having problems with Fusion 360 why are you posting in a thread about 123 Design? I guess you've already made your mind up to give up but what you are seeing is not normal, if the software was full of bugs and making people reformat all the time there would be hundreds of post complaining not just you. If you want help with this start your own thread and I'm sure support will find the problem.

I have tried searching in 123d design app page (https://support.123dapp.com/hc/en-us) but it's a dead end. There are no hits on whatever I am searching for, it's like it's not even maintained. I will try to ask a question and see if anybody will respond it, but it would be good to know if 123d is dying (or dead already for all I know) so I won't be putting any more time in learning this program.

A little funny there is no chance of getting help here at autodesk forum either since 123d is an autodesk product.

Hi There,

I am trying to fillet the edges of a letter ’S’ and 'e' ( see attached picture ) from a logo I am producing but it is not letting me for some reason. I have managed to do some of the letters for example the ‘H’ but on certain letters I am struggling. It need stop be a 5mm radius fillet on all my letters. ( see attached  also a vector illustrator file at actual size showing all the letters I am doing for you reference ).

I have done all the letters apart from the 'S' and the three 'e'

Please advise.

Not sure if any support is still available as the product has been retired.
