Texture not appearing

My texture is in the same directory as my model and in settings shading I selected "textured"

How else can i trouble shoot this issue?

A few questions first...

  • Which 3D file format are you using? FBX? OBJ? 3DS? etc.
  • Which version of FBX Review? Win32? WinStore? iOS? Mac?
  • What image formats are your textures? .png? .jpg? .tga? etc.

I tried both .fbx and .obj
Note the model is quite large at 300,000 verticies
I am using FBX for Mac
And my texture is in .jpg

It worked once but now it isn't working.

That's because the Mac version runs in a sandbox mode. Essentially, if you don't embed your textures in the .FBX file, the application will not be able to open the texture file that is specifically not the file you opened using the file open dialog.

So there is two options for you:

  1. Embed your textures in the FBX file
  2. Package your FBX file and your textures within a .zip (which will effectively bundles them in a single file and work-around the sandbox limitation because FBX Review will be able to uncompress the texture files in its own temporary folder)

There might be a third option but that would require reading the whole documentation of Mac app sandboxing rules.
