Bones and Ligaments (or... Revit Reference Planes and Parameters) with Donnia Tabor-Hanson

Component, or loadable, families in Revit need to start with a good structure. Let’s consider the Reference Planes as the Bones and the Parameters as the Ligaments of a Revit family. Delving into the properties of a Reference Plane and how they can help control a family will open your eyes to their strength. Parameters be they Shared or Family parameters form the ligaments for these bones. See how the way a family is built has a lot to do with the weight of the family. The Revit Perspective - How Project Information Modeling Revolutionizes Design

In a single generation, the very nature of design tools has evolved far beyond what we expected. In order to understand how to best move forward, this session examines the key events in the Autodesk world that have triggered these changes and how they continue to affect the way designers work. The session begins by reviewing milestones of products such as Softdesk and AutoCAD, and the original object-oriented programming tools.   We also review the acquisition of Revit and review observations about the impact of this change. A discussion about current work environments and design authoring tools for a variety of project types follows, and wraps up with ideas about how concepts like project information modeling help us remove silos across disciplines. The session will include industry experts and their perspectives. Geolocating Models Using Drones and ReCap Pro, ReCap Photo, InfraWorks, Civil 3D, Revit, Navisworks, and BIM 360/ACC!

Coordination of Models between Different Teams using Autodesk Construction Cloud

(Asia Pacific time zones-friendly session)   In the construction industry, all different disciplines like Architecture, Structure, Mechanical, and Electrical play a very important role to complete a project. It is important that these teams communicate with each other efficiently and work together in coordination in order to avoid rework and delays in completion. Using Autodesk Construction cloud (ACC) this could become hassle-free. The cloud solutions like Model Coordination and Design collaboration have made the collaboration and coordination workflows efficient.   In this session, we will learn how one can connect data (available in ACC Docs), Collaboration ( Design Collaboration) and Coordination ( BIM 360 Model Coordination), without compromising the data integrity of different teams.
