Can't select text - intermittent

Just thought I'd throw this out there. Civil3D 2009 Update 1.
I am having an intermittent problem with Mtext where at some point, I lose
the ability to select an Mtext entity. It just acts like nothing is there.
Can't select by any method, window, crossing, etc. After an audit, it still
is not selectable. Only after a save does the text start reacting normally
again.
Any ideas what causes this?

Is it annotative? Sometimes annotative text will resort to the original size while still displaying as the annotative height. Only way around it is closing the drawing and reopening it.

No, not annotative in this case. It is just MText in Paper Space.

I am having the same problem. Things that I have been doing for a work-around are using Quick Select w/ the layer that they are on and deselecting the unaffected items, seems to be the only way to select them. Next I copy the text item to a different place on the layout tab and that seems to break the "spell" that the original text is under. Finally I replace the original w/ the copy. A lot of extra work, but it gets it done.

Side note: I am using C3D 2009 and have been for several months and this just started happening to me yesterday. And before I noticed the text, I had a lock icon floating next to my cursor that just showed up and wouldn't go away until I closed & reopened C3D. I have no idea what the icon was about, if it is related to the text selection issue and I haven't seen it since. Any thoughts?

Thanks everyone.

Is your text Annotative? Does Audit work?

I get a similar problem with a lot of entities. I think I had this with R2009 (no packs), I assumed it was a graphics issue or a issue just on my installation but yesterday I got a new PC and the problem arose on that one too (R2009 2Packs).

I find that I sometimes get this problem with Corridors and you need to manually rebuild the corridor before it will allow you to select it. It also has happened with alignments, dynamic blocks and a host of other items (that I can't remember all of).

Sometimes a regenall does the trick. It sounds like a bug?

Has anyone found a solution to this problem?
I'm using C3Dd2009 and can't select (what I think is a 2d Polyline) from a survey.
It's acting really strange, only when I "ctrl/a" the drawing will it light up the grips but i cna't even grab the grips.
And there are more entities than this one but this entity is the one that i'm concentrating on right now.

1. Drawing Size
2. Computer Spec's
3. Version, SPs
4. OS

All of these can affect your problem.

Try an audit.
