Autodesk Takeoff currently lacks basic annotation functionality that would allow users to communicate context, notes, or visual cues without impacting quantified takeoff data. Right now, all visible items are treated as takeoff inputs, meaning there’s no way to add a simple text note or arrow without affecting quantities or creating workaround takeoff types.
We need native tools similar to what’s available in Bluebeam or Docs Markups — things like:
Text notes
Arrows
Callouts
Clouds
Freehand tools
These would not be tied to a specific quantity or classification, but purely serve for communication and collaboration across teams (especially for Precon and Estimating teams sharing work or explaining decisions visually).
This feature would reduce miscommunication, streamline internal workflows, and eliminate the need to jump between multiple platforms just to make simple notations.
Please prioritize adding this functionality.
