Place in CAD from Item List

I would like to expand an older idea:

The current “Place in CAD” command works great! But more and more people work item-driven. So my suggestion is to have the “Place in CAD” also in the item list:

• if the selected item has no linked model and

• the active Inventor window is an assembly, the item is inserted as a virtual component or
• the active window is something else, nothing happens. (Okay, maybe a notification.)

• if the selected item has a model as a primary link I get a selection box for either the model or the item and

• if I pick the model, it works like the “Place in CAD” of a file or
• if I pick the item, see above

This sounds like a good idea. We are not in a CAD world anymore and items take us further.

we already have this.. in addin tools we are using. but we set this in developing to be able to add infomation i liste form BC 365 about stock status and pricing
