Inventor Vault Addin: Check in Folder

Inventor Vault Addin: Check in Folder

Inventor (File > Vault > last button) is a "Check in Project" button. I really like this for checking in large amounts of new templates and non-Inventor files. However this must scan your ALL the files in your project before the dialog comes up (which could take hours). To work around this delay I MOVE all my other files outside the project folders "Check in Project" then I have to move them back correctly and remember to do so.

AutoCAD has a Vault "Check in Folder" toolbar button. I would like the same/similar for Inventor. It should function just like "Check in Project" but only scan the selected local folder.

BONUS POINTS: After the folder is scanned, allow deselecting files and folders or filtering file types. Clearly this would have to carefully confirm file references.

@Josh_Hunt

Why aren't you using Autoloader to check in these folders?

@ihayesjr Honesty, I forgot about the Autoloaded. It has been a long time since I used it.

However, it is not letting me map the correct folder.

I work with a client that has tens of thousands of files in under a single project.  (as per the Autodesk Vault recommended best practice!)  this makes the 'Checkin Project' a useless tool in practicality as per authors post.

I also regularly have to work offline and accumulate a large file count to move into the vault.

I just tried Autoloader and after spending 30mins cleaning up the files for checkin I was notified that Autoloader does not work with vaults that have unique filenames enabled!

Seriously Autodesk, checking in of multiple Inventor files really seems like a problem from 2004, not 2024.
