User Case.
The manufacturer article number and manufacturer name are key values in the identification of purchased articles. In large organizations working in different countries, there may be typos or different interpretations of characters in the manufacturer item number, e.g. the decimal separator "." could be a period or comma "," or a hyphen "-".
This could lead to unnecessary articles being created and problems arising.
Users usually search in the advanced search first to see if a purchased item already exists before creating a new one in Upchain. If they cannot find an already created item due to the different interpretation of the decimal separator and create a new one, this would not be correct.
Solution.
The item version search for the "manufacturer item number" should contain a search criterion "equal to without special characters". This should work like a regex search and only search alphanumeric characters case insensitive.
