Allow Item Attributes to be set with a property "cannot be left empty"

It would be nice addition to be able to set an item attribute with a property to assure that before the release it has some value. We can set data type, attribute type, searchable, etc... but we cannot make mandatory to fill it.

This is creating problems in our organization, as some users forget to fill all the information required.

Hi @arnau_llovet_vidal ,

could you give us the example of which item attribute type you were trying to create as mandatory? We have ability within the change request workflow to check for mandatory common or custom attributes of certain type but such workflow must be build in administration and is not within out-of-the-box workflows. https://help.autodesk.com/view/UPCHN/ENU/?guid=UC_Workflows_wo_task_wo_about_task_html

Best regards,

For example it would be nice to be able to set the Material property as mandatory. So an item cannot be released unless this field is filled.

It would be good that the mandatory property tick woudlb be configurable from the administrator account.

hi @arnau_llovet_vidal ,

there is a possibility to check for material attribute within the CR workflow, you will need to build a custom workflow and use either system decision or object decision primitive containing a rejection criteria for the items which needs to be placed somewhere before release primitive. I recommend object decision of type 'Associate Multi Item Attribute Task' since it creates a task for user to correct the attribute.

Is this information helpful?
