One problem I've had with Sketchbook is that - even with pen mode enabled - I managed to keep on selecting the wrong layer or some other control simply by the way my hand rests on the screen. I realise palm rejection & pen mode relate to unwanted brush strokes, but perhaps this could be extended to include the controls so that non-pen touches are excluded from any click or selection? (or maybe add an additional option to the preferences to allow users to choose to work this way) I see that you have the option to hide the controls via a button on the top right of the screen, but this isn't really enough especially when you want to be able to switch from one control/option/layer/whatever else quite frequently.

By drawing from reference you usually have your reference image somewhere on your screen. If you don't have a second screen, you have it somehow next to the Sketchbook Window or (and that's usual way) on a layer in Sketchbook. But this is pretty unhandy, cause you need your space on the layer for drawing/painting of course. I know you can do that better like some others do. My simple suggestion would be to provide a new layer type, let's say reference layer. This reference layers can be placed outside of the canvas but still being visible all the time. Extension: On top of this reference layer system you can safe and load a set of references as separate file. So this references are not part of the project file (PSD, tiff etc.). I would love to see something like in near future! Using Sketchbook for creating interior lay-outs, it would be nice to have some more easy to use functions, without losing the drawing function of the program of course. I'm thinking on this kind of stuff: - A snap function on rotating a layer. For example when you hold the shift key, the rotating snaps to 15 degree steps. - Percentage input when resizing a layer for precise enlargements. - Moving a layer by using the arrow keys (one pixel steps). There is enough CAD-knowledge at Autodesk to implement a few functions for making this program better for architects 😉 Could be an add on to be paid for of course.

Hi Sketchbook crew, I often use Sketchbook and i have to first recognize you made a great job, so thanks for all. But in the way i use sketchBook, i'd really enjoy if it was possible to make image references. When i want to make a comic strip or wathever like an insert in a picture i made, it will be so helpfull to be able to work in one scene A and reference this scene a scene B. I think about the 'reference Editor' for Maya for example. I know this is a kind of release which takes time to develop, with questions like : "Ok. whats going on if we want to deform this referenced file ? What happens if we want to override with whatever action the referenced file ?" I think if we just can use basic transformations in a first time (translate, rotate and scale), it already would be a victory for future releases. Thanks again for your time guys ! Guillaume

I really enjoy using the mobile version but it would be so handy to have clipping mask feature for the layers. It is my go to app but other apps do offer this feature but I'm so use to sketchbook I'd hate to change. Also adding the perspective tool in the mobile version too would be super helpful.

Many times we start our drawings in monochrome usually I try to lighten everything using the eraser but sometimes I lose track. This messed up the coloring process when it come down to it. I showed a few examples of what I mean. Basically, the tool will convert any value in the white channel into alpha transparency channel. Example: if RGBA is 125,125,125,0 convert to 0,0,0,125. Even if we have to convert our layer to gray scale first it would be worth it.

Layer Groups are only available in the desktop versions right now. I would suggest to implement this feature in all Version (Windows 10 / Android / iOS) to get a consistent workflow through all applications. For me the missing layer groups are very annoying when I work on different devices. Cause all the time I have to make a copy and merge the files later or I'm loosing my layer groups after saving and then I have to regroup everything in the desktop version. I try to avoid groups anyway, but sometimes my artwork has a lot of layers, and it's necessary to organize them.

I love the program and everything about it. I think a good way to just add to the richness of the program would be to allow you to create multiple sketchbooks or multiple pages. With multiple pages you can work on more than one project at a time. Helpful for us with sporadic minds. Having the ability to create multiple sketchbooks would allow for someone to have a little more order to their work by categorizing the big projects we're working on in different locations that save to our profiles. Think Window OneNote.
