Frame Calculator

I am an engineering student and I am currently looking for a frame calculator. But I saw this free online frame calculator and it promised to generate and find the bending moment and shear force diagrams of a 2D frame structure. Is there anyone here has tried using their software? Hope to hear from you soon. thanks!

Hi @Anonymous

I'm not familiar with it but in RSA there is a frame generator as well (Add -ins > Frame Generator)

Thanks for your prompt reply. I will have a look. Is the frame generator you mentioned also from autodesk? Also, is the software for free? Thank you! 🙂

It is calculated as the perpendicular force multiplied by the distance from the point. A Bending Moment is simply the bend that occurs in a beam due to a moment. The bending moment (BM) is defined as the algebraic sum of all the forces' moments acting on either side of the section of a beam or a frame. This is a graphical representation of the variation of the shearing force on a portion or the entire length of a beam or frame. There are seven typical methods of bending in the industry: induction bending, rotary-draw/compression bending, roll bending, plate rolling, point bending / gag pressing, synchronized incremental bending, and hot bending (using induction or other heating sources).
