Claculation crash due to imported dwg background

Hi,

I am trying analyze a slab. Ive imprted a dwg file to to my model which I use as a background. Whenever I try to run the calculation the window just freezes/crashes. Ive tried removing the background and also copying the model to a new window, nothing works. Any suggestions? please bear in mind that the model is in a very preliminary stage.

Check the length of any slab edge. What you see as program freezing seems to be the attempt to generate mesh with extremely large number of elements (caused by the size of the slab). 

Mind that you should set the corresponding units of both the project and the background.

You can use Edit > Edit > Scale tool to ' shrink' the model.
