Revit Extension 2019

Hi,

I’m trying to reach out to Autodesk to inquire as to whether or not the “Revit Extensions” for reinforcing have been discontinued. Is there someone on the structure end of the product that may be able to answer this question and what the alternate approach may be. We at our firm have found the extensions extremely used for generating rebar in host elements such as footing and columns and am hoping they will be released for RST2019.

Hi @MichaelWSullivan,

we currently do not have an ETA as to when the add-ins Revit Extensions will be released for our 2019 software. Please take a look at article below that tells you which add-ins are available at this time:

Please keep an eye on this article for future updates.

Thanks for the response, however the pre-cast extensions don't provide the desired solution I was hoping for. Autodesk has stated that they don't have a release date or alternative at the present time.

Thanks for the follow up. I'll miss the previous extensions but am always willing to move forward with new add-ins.

Hi,

This will need to be created using one of the already available adding from the store.

I’m sure this decision from Revit will either influence more third party development teams in their respective industries/fields to utilise Revit as a base platform and add their tools inside Revit and use this as their main design environment or more worryingly for Autodesk force users down the route of purchasing speciality products for their needs and not using Revit

The article doesn't mention the Grids Generator Tool which is part of the Extensions tool.

I love the Grid / level / Element generator I use it a lot.

Do we know what will happen to this feature?

Hi,

I would suggest all extension tools will be removed as they come part of packaged tools. However I would also check the Autodesk Store at they may include it as a subscription download rather than automated install via the Autodesk Desktop App

Timber and Rebar may not work but I have tested it and if you would like to get the other functions from REX2018 to 2019

you can install the REX 2018 first and copy this three addins file show in the picture from this location "C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\Revit\Addins\2018" to C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\Revit\Addins\2019
