Numbering control in text

Greetings,

I cannot see how to start a set of plan notes with numbers, add in a space for non numbered information and then continue the numbering.

Is this possible in revit or not yet?

Yes.  Use SHIFT + ENTER to add sub-paragraph without affecting the main paragraph numbering.

Is there a video of this being done?

Still not working the way you present it

I shift+enter once and its fine, after that I have to choose number option in the menu bar, and it restarts it with numeral 1.

Hi, What if I want to have 1 text box with some general notes....Main headers are Lettered, with indented numbers under...the next Main header always starts at A or 1..?? Is there a way to "continue" letters like in CAD?

EX:

A. first header

   1. text

  2. more text

B. second Header

  1. text

etc?? Any way to Have it go to B and to start at 1 again under B?

Thanks!

Did you watch the screencast? Add the space between the last number and B with SHIFT+Enter, after you have all the numbers and letters properly in order.

my problem might be that I am trying to apply letters and numbers to an existing set of notes....already has formatting probably established that I can't easily overwrite

You can always copy the notes to the side, edit and reset all the letters/numbers/bullets/spacing, then start assign them again.

So I got the hang of this in 2018 but now in 2019 I needed non numbered spacing and did the shift+enter to create the space and the next numbered note changed to numeral 1 from numeral 2.  Now in autocad you just choose to continue when it does that.  In revit I didnt see an option for that and I cannot figure out how to get it to continue the series of numerals after the spacing.

I'm finding I can get this to work by using CTRL-ENTER to add the next number, then using SHIFT-ENTER to add a space above that that does not increment. I sometimes lose the number/bullet format, but when I reapply it, it re-assumes the correct number.

At the end of the video, you just clicked outside of the box and it remained as you edited it, when i'm doing it, it resets to the original numbering like i didn't edit anything and all lines black or filled have a number in front of them.

Hello, what about if I want my number to not just be 1, 2, 3...

We do short form specs. and I need the numbers to be 09001, 09002, 09003 ...

I would like to know how to make numbering in Revit work like this:

1. GENERAL NOTES

     1.1. NOTE

     1.2. NOTE

          1.2.1. NOTE

          1.2.2. NOTE

     1.3. NOTE

2. NOTE

Obviously I can do it manually but considering multiple A3 pages of notes I would really like the numbering to auto correct instead of me having to check and change numbering if a note is taken out half way for a particular project.

Thanks

Sorry, numbering schemes in text don't support custom numbering formats like that yet.

I want to skip numbers for unused notes within the same list. like;

  1.  Keynote ABC
  2.  Keynote DEF
  3. this not to be 15, not 3.

Can you tell me how to do this?
