Hi @Anonymous,

Are you trying to achieve this with Split command? Could you please provide the Revit model so that I have a look?

Kind regards,

Thank you teodard.

1-  I am using model REVIT 2018.2

2-i just got it figured out how to put plates into my corner connections.

3-so what I want now is how do i edit my assemblies in my precast panels?

4- for instance i want my bracing  plates to be as close as possible to my split edges, it only allows me to edit my bottom to top distance and not from side to side.

5-how do i put in different type anachor plates?

   Thank you

Hi @Anonymous,

You can either use the families we are using or add your own families. Just position them at the desired location (if you cannot achieve this through Configuration settings) and after use the mounting parts command to add them in the assembly.

After the families are added to the assembly, you can use the reinforcement and shop drawing commands.

Let me know if you need additional information.

Kind regards,

Hi @Anonymous,

In order to get element in the Connection section,. you need to have two walls intersecting. You can have two wall, use the wall joins command and assigned the Mitter option or it. If you do this, during segmentation you should obtain the expected result. See image.

It works perfect until i add windows and doors to my walls.

Sorry but i don't know if i worded my last post properly.

1--when i am using miter command it works perfect on walls that don't have no objects like windows and doors in them.

2--but when i add a window or a door to my wall it will not put any plates in my corners, but it will put plates into my straight connections.

I am wondering if there is a place where i can import different configuration settings?

Hi @Anonymous,

Please use the configuration as shown in the attached image? This is what the configuration should look like for anchor plates.

Kind regards,

sorry for the confusion but now they are vertical but only where straight split walls come together but nothing in my corners.

1--but again it works good when the wall doesn't have windows or doors in them and once i put doors and windows in there it doesn't work.

Hi @Anonymous,

In order to achieve your desired behavior you could use the following work-flow:

  • Use No Selection for the connection families so that when performing the segmentation you wouldn't get any families at the desired location (see attached image);

Configuration.png.

  • Perform split to obtain your precast assemblies;
  • Manually (through dynamo) add the families (anchor plates) at the desired location;

Added anchor.PNG

  • Use Mounting Parts command to automatically add these families into the assembly;
  • User shop drawing to automatically generate the shop drawing for your assemblies;

Shop Drawing.PNG

For more details about using Dynamo to add mounting part see link:
