Doule Pitched Joist

I need to add a double pitched 10K1 joist in Revit 2009. Is there a way of doing this? Help would be much appreciated, Thanks.

"Attach to roof" doesn't work?

When I select the 10K1 joist (see image) I do not get the option of attaching to the roof. Am I missing something here?

Can you get a double pitched K joist?

You might have to use a generic steel truss.

"Attach to roof" is only available for truss objects.

The joist families provided with Revit are "Structural Framing" objects.

You will have to edit the family to make it double pitched. The truss families are very complex- If you have not worked with families before, doing this will be difficult.

There is an editing families tutorial, I believe- you 'll have to start with that.

Good luck,
Joe

Only truss can get the option of attaching to the roof.
The double pitched bar joist is structural framing, so there is no option for attaching.
You might need to adjust the pithced angle (a parameter that can be found in the element properties) to match to the roof slope.

Is this in revit 2010? I don't believe seeing it in revit 2009
