Worksets

Hi Autodesk team,

When creating a new worksets in Revit, it automatically applies the new worksets to all view templates, and turns it on by default. While this is fine in some cases, it can become tedious to manually adjust visibility across multiple templates afterward.

It would be really helpful if, during worksets creation, there was an option to select which templates the new worksets should be visible in.

For example:

  • A checklist of all view templates, allowing us to select/deselect individual ones.

  • Quick options such as “Select All” and “Select None.”

  • Once the desired templates are selected, we could then click Create, and the new worksets would only be visible in those chosen templates.

This would streamline visibility control and significantly reduce the clean-up needed after creating new worksets.

Thanks!

At first I was thinking, well you can turn the workset(s) off in the Worksets dialog window, so the default is turned off (see below).

But then I realized that you are looking for more granularity in the selection process so you can turn those off in the individual view templates from the Worksets dialog....  I like it!!!

When working in Revit, I often create a section view from an existing view where specific worksets are already enabled or disabled. However, after creating the section and opening it, I need to manually re-enable the same worksets again. This adds repetitive steps and interrupts the workflow.

Naturally, when creating a section, the user expects to see the same elements as in the original view—just from a different angle. It would therefore be very useful if, when creating a section, there were an option (for example, a checkbox) to allow the new section view to inherit the workset visibility settings from the view in which the section was created.
