Wall layer functional priority

Wall layer functional priority

It may be helpful to split the function (structure, substrate, finish etc) from the join priority (numbers)

Just for user clarity.. it makes more sense to consider these as separate concepts.

As is stands architects generally struggle with the concept of layer functions & join priorities. Its just not very user friendly and is quite unpredictable.

This really needs to be addressed.

Thanks for taking the time to submit your idea. Unfortunately, this idea did not get the support of the community over the last 6 months and as such we will not be pursuing it at this time. Please feel free to rework (titles and clear descriptions are really important) and resubmit this one down the road.

Dear @sasha.crotty

I would like to bring to your attention my idea, which bears some resemblance to, but significantly differs from the idea I noticed had been added to the roadmap. Here is my idea.

Having the ability to manage priorities as a material parameter instead of a component layer would provide much more flexibility and standardization options.

I've also tagged your friendly colleague @kimberly.fuhrman : in my idea post.

Thank you for taking the time to read this message.

This implementation of it is quite horrible for new users.

As an experienced user I think this is a good change (allthough there should be more than 5 priorities available). But for new users this is very confusing as they have no concept of what the 'default' values are to use. I think it would be helpfull to somehow either make the 'default' value be entered when you change the function, then be able to change the function afterwards or have the default priority show up when you hover over the functions.

I'm also not really sure what the function (pun intended) of the function is at this moment. You won't really see it anywhere but in the 'Edit structure' screen of your walls, etc. Splitting it up only seems to make sense if the amount of priority options is extended.

@jens.lathouwersMR29R : please take a look at my interpretation of this , my idea got accepted by autodesk factory team, but more votes can not hurt.  (my idea is based arround material priorities instead of priorities in the walls, floors etc, also does my idea suggest working with priorities from 0-999)
