Vector printing with raster underlay

Vector printing with raster underlay

When vector printing (pdf) is checked I would like to have everything possible as an vector file. The things that turn a vector to a raster image should be placed as an raster underlay such as shading, shadows, gradients.

Totally agree.

It's awful, when you want to print in vector but the titleblock have a little raster image on it (like the default titleblock with Autodesk Logo)... Then all you print job become raster.

Only one thing I prefer that shadows, depht cueing and ambient shadow print as a vector (transparent + gradient) layer.

Yep. This still needs attention.

We rely more and more on PDF as a means of communication (rather than printed hard copies).

Vector processing is much higher quality, and should be the default for all linework (even when shadows are applied).

Thanks.

Not sure why there aren't more votes for this - the same file printed with a high enough quality raster is over 20x bigger than the vector version, and still doesn't have the same functionality.
