Tag reference planes

Tag reference planes

It would be really helpful if we could tag reference planes, or if we could make the reference plane name visible without clicking the plane.

This would definitely be a nice feature.

I need it too!

Yes.  So frequently we lay out grids for a project, but there seems to be a second tier of constructs managed by reference planes.  These planes frequently need to be referenced not only when working but also when documenting on sheets.  Another useful tool might be to CONVERT between grids and reference planes.

Cheers.

Really needed. We would use it to name planes we use to show property/lot boundaries in section (or Autodesk could just allow Property Lines to be seen in section).

Alternatively, make them work like levels and grids...

  • Instead of using subcategories allow reference planes to have types.
  • Allow users to specify a symbol that can include the name.
  • Give reference planes a checkbox at each end that will toggle symbol visibility on a per-view basis.

has there been a response from Autodesk about including this feature?  It would be great to see the label of reference planes like grid labels....

I'd love this feature too
