Stair tag egress width

Stair tag egress width

I'm working on a set of egress tags for our code plans and am trying to tag stairs with a label that references the actual run width. Is this possible?

When I edit the basic stair tag family to create my own, there's an option for a label to reference "Width", but nothing shows up. Any ideas?

One dummy way, i to to create a shared parameters and enter the value of the width. Then create a tag for that particular parameter.

That's the workaround I have in place currently, but it would be nice if it would automatically populate from the stair run width.

You can do this. You have to make sure to choose the right category for your tag. Use "Stair Run Tags" as the category, not "Stair Tag" and you can. You can also put a calculated value if you need to calculate egress width and/or number of people who can egress through that stair.
