BUMP! I have a few families that have over 100 calculation parameters. Before you are quick to judge, my families run fine and are small in file size, they just have a lot of parameters. The issue is, Revit recalculates the entire family after each time the push parameter up or down button is clicked. It takes minutes just to get one parameter in the spot where I want it. Can we please get the unlock, drag, & relock feature I mention above?
Currently system families only support displaying the order of the parameters as A to Z, Z to A and default. Please include Move Up and Move Down options to reorder the parameters as required.
This feature was requested as site fixers are using Tablets with the Revit model in a viewer to fix steel and wanted to view specific properties of the rebar in the Properties dialog. Our customer is wanting to move away from paper documentation to a digital world.
@kimberly_fuhrman-jones does the 2025 implementation actual include being able to manually sort like in families? We have been down this road before in 2024.
@kimberly_fuhrman-jones & @curtisridenour The parameter sorting in families is not the greatest. Does the new option give us the ability to drag and drop the parameters rather than clicking the up and down buttons?

Families and Project Parameters would be best if they had a unlock/lock then drag and drop function. Perhaps the unlock/lock function could be a UI button that you click or it could be a keyboard button that you hold while clicking on parameters.
Previously, all created parameters were sorted according to the creation date.
From Revit 2024 all parameters are sorted alphabetically. This applies to both type parameters and instance parameters in the Properties palette. Alphabetical sorting is always to each parameter group. However, the built-in parameters in the group are not affected.
Unfortunately, there is currently no way to manually sort project parameters. Or at least enable a sorting rule by creation date. New alphabetical approach, erases all erlier configured templates. And it makes an critical impact on data representation from Engineering and Management poit of view in the Projects after their update to Revit 2024.
