Authorities Having Jurisdiction are now starting to ask for models as deliverables.  We are also working on airports with underground fueling and need the ability to protect the model.

We would like the ability to password protect Revit models:

  1. Lock the model and not allow the model to be opened unless password level 1 is entered
    1. add an expiration date to the password and not allow the model to be opened after a date  (expire every two weeks to force a consultant to obtain a new base model to use as a linked model)
  2. lock the model and not allow the model to be changed unless password level 2 is entered
  3. Lock the model and not allow elements to me copied unless password level 3 is entered
  4. A place and procedure to digitally sign a model and certify it has not been changed.   A note box where model use and validation for model use is attached to a model being delivered.

This would protect the model from people not authorized to have the model. We can give AHJ level 1 password and know what they are looking at is what we delivered. We know by sharing the model with consultants the model cannot be copied and used other places. The model expires and forces consultants to contact the model owner for a newer model to when we need a consultant to obtain a new base model.
