Can we get an option in the Family Editor to specify what orientation families are created?
By this I mean, if I'm creating a family that's always going to be vertical, I want the face (or workplane) I create it on to be vertical, not the horizontal "Reference Level"
The worst case of this is Ceiling based items where you have to model them upside down.
Another example: I just had a nested Cabinet handle. I unchecked "Show in Plan" thinking I didn't want to see them in my Floor Plans.
Little did I realize that "Plan" in the nested family translated to Elevation when it was placed on a vertical surface.
So unchecking "Show in Plan" ended up making them disappear in my Elevations.
Confusing.
