Once a Section box has been turned on and modified. It would be beneficial for its location and shape to be retained when it is turned off and back on.
There is some of this functionality available with the new R19 Feature - scope box cropping in 3D, where you can apply a scope box crop to a 3D view. However, if you already had a certain area cropped using the section box and you change the crop by selecting a scope box, you will lose the original crop area when setting the scope box property back to None. Unless you follow a workaround I've supplied to Autodesk support (Case ID: 14353264 - when setting the scope box property to none, you must turn the section box property back on before applying the view changes). When using this workaround the original section box crop will be retained/reapplied.
