Scope Box - Origin, X, Y, and Z axies and Project Base Points

Scope Box - Origin, X, Y, and Z axies and Project Base Points

Facts

Currently only a single Project Base Point is allowed.

Most Design Softwares allow Users to create MULTIPLE Coordinate Systems (UCS).

Scope Boxes have minimal functionality.

Proposal

Give Scope Boxes an Origin, X, Y, and Z axis.  Allow the user to snap to these elements.

Include Scope Boxes in options when Linking outside Files, similar to the Internal Origin, Project Base Point, and Survey Point.  (See below)

Alternate

Allow multiple Named Project Base Points/Project Coordinate Systems

Scope Boxes could be used in tandem to dictate extents of Views associated with any coordinate system.

Cheers!

If multiple Project / User Coordinate Systems were possible, each with its own origin, x, y, and z axis, then Scope Boxes could be simplified to function only as a crop tool, being decoupled from view orientation.

This way, scope boxes could ultimately be replaced entirely by a view crop command that allows the selection of any geometric entity or geometry group as the cropping tool.

This way is much simpler, yes?

Agree, multiple Project Base Points (PBP) would a much more wholistic solution than making scope boxes more complicated.

How would this affect federated models and placement of 3D models shell& Cores on site plans and later towards use for Civil implementation in municipal databases (Big BIM : )?
