Schedule with more category's

I would like to be able to create a schedule with more than one category. A schedule with Lighting Fixture, Lighting device, Electrical fixture and Electrical device. I would like to state this as a wish.

Suggestion: create to project parameters called category & sub-category. Assign these to the Lighting Fixture, Lighting device, Electrical fixture and Electrical device categories. specify your main category as electrical and then your sub-category as the specific. you can then schedule all of these items as per the category (project parameter), in a multi-category schedule. Then filter out only those items that contain the category Electrical. Hope that helps!!!

Unfortunately this is not a solution for our problem. My intention is to show the panel name in a schedule in which multiple categories are present.

as above and add another project parameter called panel. again assign all to all the above. You will probably want to make this an instance though if you have multiple panels., and some devices cennect to x and some to y.....

That is creating additional work where none should be required although it would work. Unfortunately when new Family Types are created the required parameters are blank so it will mess up the schedules and introduce errors, been there and done that as they say.

The solution would be to change the multi-category schedule so that it shows all elements regardless of whether they have the same parameters or not.

I can't for the life of me think why it works this way in the first place...
