Revit Schedules Improvements

Returning to my old hobby of coming here to vent when I spend hours doing something in Revit and need to punch the proverbial wall.

We should improve the user friendliness of schedules.  Make a big schedule, split it up into say 10 schedukles, then start making changes.   Then try to fill it out.  

Revit makes this just super super painful.  Putting aside parameter types and shared parameters and what type vs instance, etc.   Just USING the schedules is hard.   The column widths are manual.  Alignment in columns is manual.  fonts, header names, etc.

Can we implement one or both of the following:   Templates for schedules (pretty obvious) or dependent schedules (same idea as views - copy the view as dependent, then allow different filtering and sorting).

I also would like to add a feature to hide a column, but only on the sheet. I often use parameters in a schedule for design purposes only, but don't want to show those to the contractor. For example, for light fixtures I like to see the light depreciation factor in the schedule builder to recognize if a fixture uses an unreasonable factor. But I don't want to show that on the sheet. 

Also add notes to bottom of schedules.

I mean, just the heart ache of navigating that dialog with all the tabs and checkboxes and pulldown menus, figuring out the Sorting and Grouping settings...

It's definitely not WYSIWYG, and I keep returning to that dialog repeatedly just to adjust settings after realising things didn't turn out the way I wanted at the first try.

I'll add "allow me to edit the Element Properties directly from the Schedule row without having to go to the element first" to the list of woes.

I would like this for electrical cirucits.

I would also like to be able to jump to the spatial volume created by the circuits connections between power source and load elements. This is not currently possible from within a Schedule which is a shame as I need to use workarounds rather than get to the location of the electrical circuit directly. Maybe a "jump to load elements" button.

@gseilerUVTJW I just learned that you can make templates for schedules. So far I've just used them to standardize the Title font, header font, and body font, as well as the border line weights and line shading.   @HVAC-Novice As for making columns visible in the schedule and not show on the sheet, I build working schedules all the time, separate from the "printed" schedule.

@HVAC-Novice You can create a separate "Working Schedule" for the values you do not want printed on the sheet. You can also organize the Project Browser to keep all the working schedules in a different section. Then just set the print schedule on the sheet and forget it, while you do all your work on the expanded working schedule.

I'll add that it would be really nice to be able to make a schedule from scratch. I'd be able to add whatever columns I'd like and pull from the entire project instead of having to select a set category. 
Additionally, it would be nice to be able to hide rows from a schedule. So many times I'd much rather hide a window from a schedule than try and work my levels just right to get all the windows to show up correctly. I've use workarounds like putting an "x" before the tag and changing the schedule settings to show all that don't contain an x, but then I'd still like to be able to show that tag in another schedule and now it has an "x" in the tag.
