An issue we face is we track elements sometimes by their Element ID or even GUID. However, in the case of a Sheet. If a user has sheets in a template, and creates a new project from that Template, those sheets in each file have the same Element ID and GUID! Likewise if they do a save as. If we had a simple way to force a new unique Element ID or GUID that would avoid the horrible workarounds of having to duplicate/replicate the sheet and delete the old one.
I'm sure this same principle would be applied to multiple element categories and as long as the method ensure the GUID is unique in the file I can't see why we can't do this...
