The properties tab and project browser in Revit 2024 have lighter colour/ less contrast compared to Revit 2022 and therefore are much harder to read. See below screenshots. Could this be please fixed.

A word on Dark Theme:
Some people have recommended using Dark Theme since the interface issues seem to be less sever. I'm quite used to a black screen being a recovering AutoCAD user. However, a white screen has one particular advantage that I never want to lose, and that is, a simple screen shot with a white background looks so clean and simple when pasted into an email or chat. I use screen shots 10 times a day. Nothing pops like a red markup on a white background.
@james.levieux Ditto on the white background. Once you finally give up the black AutoCAD background and get used to a white one, you'll never go back. having the screen actually look like the printed version is dyno-mite.
I like to point out to people that this white vs dark/colored backgrounds was fought and settled years ago in almost every other computer application - just look at web pages from the 80's/90's vs today, or Word, Excel, this web page, etc. etc.
@akingSXGWCCouldn't agree more. WYSIWYG demands black on white in the vast majority of work cases. (I don't mind a dark retro terminal occasionally but never once have I voluntarily used a dark screen for anything else). Autocad can easily be set up to display black on white too.
Normally I would protest that black on white is easier on the eyes but that is a hard claim to make with R24, I really hope someone deals with this sooner rather than later
I agree - the contrast needs to come back to the UI. I do not like nor ever liked the dark mode. This is not the answer. The contrast NEEDS to be fixed or a way to manually change it!
I agree that Revit 2024 seems harder to use due to its revised visuals. I had originally thought that it was just due to it being new and different, and that I'd get used to it after some time.
After 4 months of using 2024 now, I'm still having to pause in my work flow to study the project browser to see which sheet I need. The Properties tab is slower to use, forcing me to or pause a moment to review the properties and ensure my eyes are staying on the correct row.
I've tried the dark mode, and it isn't any easier.
Very frustrating, wish there was a way to revert the UI back to 2023.
This is the icon for masking region tool. This is a bad icon.
I think of masking regions as white. I want the solid blue fill to be replaced by a thin blue outline with no fill. The blue fill here makes me think that I'm drawing a filled region when I click on the icon, when (surprise!) I've just drawn a masking region instead.
This 2024 low contrast interface feature is terrible. I'm a 10+ year Revit Admin and I can't see anything. This is especially bad when I am working on or viewing users machines on teams. Trying to mentor new users when I can't see what they are doing is very difficult. Getting headaches every day while working is not something we can all just get used to...This is equivalent to having a really bad chair. You need proper ergonomic tools, It's very important to job health and satisfaction.
Can we possibly get a service pack that contains a high contrast option?
At minimum can you add the lines back to the properties pallet and darken the lines/text in the project browser?
Why would the text in the browser and properties pallet be lighter that the text in the drawing window or dialog boxes? Can you see how much harder it is to see the project browser font?

So to the Autodesk person in charge of Revit 2024 UI, just know that every time I open Revit 2024 I curse your name. I may not know your name, but I curse it just the same and I hope you are replaced soon.
A "normal" contrast and a "high" contrast option would be appreciated. OR, have an option to turn on alternating row shading in dialog boxes, just like in schedules. Isn't the "stripe row" feature in schedules to help make them more legible and readable? Yeah, bring that person into the UI team ASAP to right the ship. Thanks.
This interface has really messed with my eyesight and is costing me time as I squint to be sure I'm choosing the right icons. I'm having to wear glasses over my contacts now and I wish I hadn't upgraded to 2024. The tiny, tiny lightbulb icon for Reveal Hidden Elements, and several of the other icons, are barely legible. I frequently take my 17" laptop to meetings, and this interface is very difficult to use without a really big monitor in front of me. I sincerely hope Autodesk will reconsider this change in legibility.
I also think this will make it more difficult for new users to learn to use the software.
I've never made a comment in Autodesk Community before, but I think this is very important - our jobs are literally to communicate clear, legible content through careful selection of lineweight and font. I need Autodesk to do the same.
Yeah high screen resolutions on a laptop can make things really small, which can hurt extra with the poor contrast of Revit 2024.
Under Windows display settings, there's an option named "Change the size of text, apps, and other items." Revit should respond to this setting and scale up in response to it. Search for it in the Settings app. A modest bump up to 125% should give you some clarity while still leaving a lot of usable screen space.
Note that Revit doesn't scale up everything properly (for example click targets for section box handles), but this should help.
The new lack of contrast/separation is really making 2024 difficult to work in. I have a rare eye condition where colors and straight lines can vary from day to day. Dark mode isn't an option, I work in both Revit and Autocad everyday, the different color modes help give quick visual cues as to which software I'm in. I tried dark mode in Revit, but kept trying to use Autocad commands, then in Autocad I was trying to use Revit command/shortcut keys. I really hate how Autodesk "fixes" something but breaks something else.
update: tried some suggestions from autodesk. nothing simply darkened the fonts. to get something different, you have to modify the whole interface. this is really bad.
The interface in Revit 2024 is washed out and lacks contrast. It would be really nice to have the option of returning it back to match 2023 with a "classic view" option. I have a rare eye condition where colors and straight lines can appear distorted from day to day and from eye to eye. it took me a couple days to see there are still grid lines in the properties dialog. The lack of contrast has me working from muscle memory, I just can't make out some buttons. It's starting to effect my production, really not happy with that. Really hard to believe this was higher on the priority list than improving the text editor or several other wish list items that have been asked for, for several years.
