Reference Points

Reference Points

Basic geometry:  Two points make a line, Reference Line = checked.  Three points makes a plane, Reference Plane = checked.  But Reference Point is no where to be found.

We need Reference Points in Project and Family environment (similar to what is in Conceptual Mass or Adaptive family).  They are useful for:

1. Constraining rotation of elements:  Lock the base point of an object to a Reference Point and provide a parametric angle to control the rotation.

2. To be dimension witness elements.

Good idea...

We regret to inform you that your idea has been rejected based on the failure to meet the single criteria we have for evaluating ideas, which is whether or not you've made a post with only a single idea in it.

You have of course suggested that we provide Reference Points in the project environment. But you have ALSO suggested we provide them in the Family environment. So that's two ideas in the same post. And since we don't actually consider the quality of the idea(s), but rather only whether you've adhered to our dumb submission criteria, sadly we refuse to give you any Reference Points at all, and in fact will be removing them from the Massing and Adaptive environments as your punishment.

Next time I will make sure to use singular instead of plural form, e.g. Point not Points.

I hope my making fun of them doesn't effect the odds of them actually implementing your excellent idea(s).

But it probably will.
