Property lines - 3D, Section and Elevation

Property lines - 3D, Section and Elevation

The property line in Revit should have the same behavior that the grid line. You draw the property line in the plan and it appears in section and elevation. Indeed in the world of architectural documentation  we need to show their boundaries in section and elevation.

Furthermore, a porpriety boundary changes sometimes during the project and it will be nice to be able to assign a phase of creation to this property line.

hi

I suggest to create a new feature that enable users to draw simply the property lines and the set backs lines in plan view but as a 3d surfaces.

why? because these lines should be available also in every section or elevation!

its about time to have this feature 🙂

Could you please make Property boundary lines 3D so they can be cut and visible as vertical lines in sections?

Property lines exist in 3D. I'd like to see them in 3D. Please.

The ability to display Property Lines in section views also frequently requested. There are work-arounds, but it would be great to be able to just use the Property Line.

The solution to this problem is really very important.

Indeed you can implemnet in 3d (they are rarely 2d surfaces) this tool with anothers like:

_Property volume

_Maximum legal volume authorised

_Right of way

Any progress with this request?

hello.

my name is Hod and i'm an architect.

when i work on a project i have to show the building line and property line both in the plans

and in the sections and elevations so maybe you can modify the property line command to act like a reference plane, that way you only have to create the property line once and get faster results.

@HodBenYaakov I use customised grid lines for this purpose. Yes, its an extra step, but you can label each grid that makes sense e.g., south-west boundary, etc.   The text/label runs parallel to the grid line.

@Mark_Engwirda

that's actually a great workaround, but i really hope that they update the property line to work the same way.

i have tried to edit the grid head so that the name of the grid would be rotated 90° but when i load it into my project the name is not visible.

do you know how to fix it?

i'm trying to avoid creating the name as simple text.

@HodBenYaakov I would send you mine as an example, but I don't think I can upload it from here.

Send me your email if you like.

Property lines work fine in floorplans. Though in a section it's not possible to make these visible.

It would be interesting if the property lines could get a symbol similar to the Rise/Drop symbols where you could make the intersection between a property line and the section plan visible.

It would be useful if we can see the property lines in 3D. We upload our 3D Revit model to Autodesk Docs and use the BIM Layout app on the android tablet to set out the building on site. The site guys have requested to see the property line on the 3D model similar to behaviour with grids (show on a level e.g. Ground Floor) to assist them on site.

Property lines should be in 3D so they are also visible in elevation and section views.

Wish this was in Revit already. Just extend the property line vertically at point intersects with elevation/section. User can decide per view top and bottom of property line by instance. As example how it might look.

I think issue with grid lines if the aren't on the plane the don't show. Cant test right now, so may be mistaken.

Property Lines are a bugger. Some people use Detail Lines, others use Model Lines, others use geo data for lines. Each approach has its' own advantages, but all of them all hogging the Revit project at the end of the day. Just create Property Ref. Planes and make them printable in red, regardless of Phase and Phase Overrides and VG Overrides and Filters and any other madness one could possibly imagine to achieve such property "lines".
