This parameter is associated with a screen glyph and functions as a plug or a socket.
The socket sends / transfers information and the plug recieves information.
One family holds the socket and another family holds the plug and parameter values are passed between - from socket to plug.
The glyph that is placed in the family also acts as a geometric locator so that the family holding the plug clicks into place / self aligns on placement with the family holding the socket.
Modelling of buildings would become so much easier - like Lego dare I say it.
PS it would be nice if system families also had at least some of the socket functionality.
