Seeing the original 8 year old thread, in which users complained about missing 3D-measuring functionality in a 3D-BIM program and giving examples of programs with good 3D-measuring tools (inventor, navisworks, etc.), it getting accepted by "The Factory" after 5 years and then being implemented as half-baked as it is right now just makes my head hurt.
This is simply embarassing.
Users showed you the way to go and you still decided to do it your way. Heck there was even someone that posted a selfmade plugin that could do better.
If you don't want to listen to the community or if it's too much of a hassle to implement because of bad spaghetti code or whatever reason, then just ignore these threads and let them rot in the void of this forum.
But after accepting an idea I think we should be able to expect a bit more thoroughness...
