Maintain Annotation Orientation did not get implemented the last time this functionality was improved. it still missing on fittings both pipes, cable tray and duct fittings
Would you like her to reopen it and merge this one, then? That way we would use the historic and votes of the other one...
I just want to say that I'm remaking as many face based and non level hosted families to "normal" families with the complicated possibility of rotating the geometry, because face-based and non-level hosted elements are a pain to use because they can lead to undesired moves (when hosted on linked elements, witch is most of the time), and they also lose the level information, making them harder to manage in terms of information...
Accessories in pipes, ducts, etc, are not face-based nor level agnostic, so they are kind of hibrid. But they do lose the annotation when placed in a non horizontal position... And we cannot see the symbol of the element in a section at the same time.
I've seen people designing the symbols of those with 3D lines, to go around that problem, but that too creates issues - they have a category of model element, they don't properly resize, they are not in real size when the element is sloped, and we cannot have hatches/solid patterns (I've made a family with many lines close together to mimic a solid fill in print, but that horrible in dwg out put), just to name the most important ones.
So, unlike for the other category families, there is not a real workaround for the accessories (and fittings - this would be nice for pipe caps and ventilation endings too).
So, please, can you make this available soon and for backwards revit versions?
