Link PDF into Revit

Will Revit ever support the feature of linking or attaching a PDF into the revit file?

Please add vector import too. Some competing packages even include editing of pdfs.

It's indeed possible to use the imported PDF image as picking target when creating lines etc., but that works only so-so. Lines are ok, but curves often get messed up.

Also, shall one be forced to pick like 1000 lines to get the the full vector version of a PDF?

I'd vote for optionally

- importing the PDF to get the vectors,

- or linking it to get the image representation of it (as is).

No question importing bigger PDFs as vectors can mess up the scene. But that's the same just when importing or linking DWGs. It should be up to the user to decide.

Seriously, just do it like Archicad, why on earth are you stalling on this extremely simple request?

Link & option to extract vectors... there are even free online PDF to DWG converters that manage this.

1,200 comments, 5 years and how many billable hours converting PDF's into jpegs and continuously re-updating the links? Priceless. There are some things thousands of dollars in subscriptions can't buy. For everything else, there's forums online until it is finally addressed.

Had a project that was similar to another, but the plan was different. Wall Sections got moved around and separated from their Detail Items, dimensions and notes. Would have taken a long time to fix each one individually. Went to similar project and exported the correct Wall Sections as PDFs. Linked PDFs into Drafting Views. Did it work? Gosh no! PDF was pixelated garbage.

Embarrassing  in 2021.

 The only option is to rasterize the PDF. This isn't inserting/linking a PDF, PDFs are vector based. This is inserting a picture of a PDF. It no different that taking a screenshot and inserting the image like we have been doing for years.

Option to have web or folder links within Revit, which takes one to a PDF drawing. similar to a website.

yes very helpful to not have to convert pdf to img format but be able to link pdf directly

@paullimapaOk, I can imagine that this used to be really annoying.

I often have usues with filled 'regions' while using pdf's directly.

personally i don't use this function alot, but sure helps that's its possible.

being able to link pdfs like in AutoCAD has been a feature for a number of years and to finally have this in Revit is a major plus in my book
