Line end style (2d)

Line end style (2d)

All lines in Revit show and print with round endings. Would be much better if we can choose the ending (in most cases should be square anyway)- much like in Autocad. As for now we are using Filled Regions to fake lines with square endings which shows our desperation.

Just a comment.  There was a point when many folks preferred the round line ends, because it mimicked pen drawings.  We've come full circle.

Almost full circle -  it is always better to have choice - the default works fine for small thickness lines but comes the moment you need to show fire truck patch or thicker property line - then is all circles and arcs...

A minor feature that should be easy to implement would be a setting for round vs square ends within the line appearance settings.  It is my understanding that earlier versions of the product contained square edge lines.  Allowing the option would be aesthetically useful in some cases , and would allow for symbolic lines (dashed, ect.) to look distinct from model lines.

I am currently attempting to draw (very simple - just a sketch) a series of ducts so that I can communicate these to the technical engineer. I will not say that I consider this a major issue, but I was hoping to model the ducts as single lines (otherwise I have to double up the line work and create a filled region), in order to set out the ducts in a floor plan. I am no engineer and only wish to check my plan schematically, but the rounded ends are disturbing in the context of duct-work. Generally speaking I think the more options you build in to your software, the more efficiently you can work with it. Someone will probably say - just model it, and maybe you're right, but in this case it seems like overkill.
