I mostly disagree with this statement as vertical is readable... upside down or mirrored would be considered not readable.
Sometimes we don't want the text to read horizontal all the time depending on placement. But I do see that sometimes that might be the desired result. So more options in the family would be good. Give us options to set text as "Always Horizontal" "Readable", perhaps even "Always Vertical". Basically give us more options. And while we're at it, make those options selectable within the project, so we can change it up dependent on circumstance.
You’re absolutely right—I let my frustration show with the current Keep Readable behavior. It forces text to be either horizontal or vertical with no way to override it. We definitely have cases where text must always be horizontal, and other cases where it should follow the component or be vertical. I’m 100% aligned that we need all the options: Always Horizontal, Readable, Follow Component, and Always Vertical—ideally settable at the family level with the ability to override per project or per instance.
@Mike.FORM I've tried using that several times in the past, but it just seemed to be hit or miss whether it worked or not, so I just stopped trying. Perhaps I need to give that a go again.
